Shawon Jackson is the founder and Executive Director of Vocal Justice, a national education nonprofit that builds youth power and social justice literacy in schools across the country. He teaches communications at Stanford's Graduate School of Business, where he works with MBA students and executives on the craft of persuasion, presence, and purpose-driven narrative.
His work spans the nonprofit and corporate worlds — helping organizations find the story that holds up under pressure, facilitating high-stakes convenings where diverse stakeholders must build shared understanding, and coaching individual leaders to speak with greater clarity, authority, and authenticity. He brings a racial equity lens to everything he does, believing that the most transformative communications work is also the most honest.
Shawon is based in the Bay Area and works with clients nationally.
The most powerful thing you can do is learn to tell the truth in a way people can actually hear.
